The NBA universe received an update on the status of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo on Monday.
According to Shams Charania, NBA insider for The Athletic and Stadium, the two-time MVP’s injury could have been worse.
“Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo avoided serious damage in his right wrist after further testing today, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium,” Charania wrote. “Antetokounmpo could miss some games, but an overall sigh of relief for the Bucks and their All-NBA star.”
The report is a relief for Bucks fan and people that don’t want to see one of the game’s best players sidelined for an extended period of time.
Antetokounmpo suffered the injury on Feb 16 when the Bucks faced the Chicago Bulls before the All-Star break. He left the game immediately afterwards and did not return.
Antetokounmpo still played in the All-Star Game on Sunday, but only for 20 seconds before sitting for the remainder of the night. His wrist had been wrapped with tape as well.
Bucks fans have every right to be pleased.
