The Memphis Grizzlies dropped Game 1 of their first-round series with the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, and they may have to avoid falling behind 2-0 at home without Ja Morant.
During the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 128-112 loss, Morant landed hard when colliding with Anthony Davis on a drive to the basket. Per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, Morant said his status for Wednesday’s Game 2 is “in jeopardy.”
Onlookers responded by stating the obvious: Morant’s injury is bad news for the Grizzlies.

According to MacMahon, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said X-rays returned negative. However, Morant said he couldn’t use his injured right hand to unroll a pair of socks after the game.
Morant, who averaged 26.2 points per game during his fourth season, tallied 18 points and six rebounds Sunday. The Lakers ended the game on a 15-0 run with the Memphis All-Star sidelined.
The Grizzlies could be in big trouble if Morant can’t play. Game 2 starts Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
