The NBA world is focused on LeBron James’ pursuit of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record, but the Lakers superstar set a different milestone on Tuesday night.
During a matchup against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, LeBron passed both Mark Jackson and Steve Nash to move into fourth place on the NBA’s all-time assist list.
LeBron now has 10,338 assists, sitting behind just Chris Paul, Jason Kidd and John Stockton.
The NBA world took to Twitter to react to this milestone.
“More dimes than Nash is crazy,” one fan wrote.
“Crazy that LBJ would have to play another 10 years to catch John Stockton,” another said.
“Greatest ever, not close,” another added.
“Gonna be top scorer all time. Top 3 in assist all time. How can he not be the best basketball player all time. Longevity matters,” another wrote.
LeBron finished tonight’s game with 28 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds as the Lakers notched victory in overtime The 38-year-old superstar is now 89 points away from matching Kareem’s all-time scoring record.
LeBron has averaged 7.3 assists per game throughout his 20-year NBA career.
