Longtime NBA star Carmelo Anthony announced his retirement from the game on Monday morning.

Anthony, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, starred for the New York Knicks, among other teams, over the course of his professional career.

The former Syracuse Orange star, who won a national title playing under Jim Boeheim, announced his retirement with a social media video.

“Thank you,” he wrote, adding “#STAYME7O.”

The NBA World is reacting to Carmelo Anthony announcing his retirement.

Anthony is a no-doubt Hall of Famer, considering his success at Syracuse, his longtime NBA career and his achievements with Team USA.

The former Syracuse Orange star will go down as one of the best pure scorers the game has ever seen.

We wish Anthony the best of luck in retirement.
