Kevin Durant was not severely injured when he slipped and fell during pregame warmups Wednesday night, but he’s still gong to miss time.
Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic reported Thursday that the Phoenix Suns will reevaluate Durant’s sprained left ankle in two weeks and are hopeful he will be able to return shortly thereafter.
Reactions to Charania’s latest info have been mixed.
“This is realistic. They want KD and this group to get more time on the floor before the playoffs. Could be back sooner,” said Phoenix sports anchor Cameron Cox.
Former Suns standout Eddie Johnson is trying to remain positive.
“The swelling being down is great news. 24 hour around the clock therapy is amazing. Pray it down @suns fans!” Johnson said.
“This is definitely bad. Now you don’t have Durant so you basically have a suns team with out a solid 8-man rotation,” countered a Mavericks fan.
“That ain’t gonna be two weeks lol,” predicted a Nets fan.
“Not the best news but also not the worst news,” said a Lakers fan.
Durant has battled injuries in the past, so it’s obviously understandable if the Suns are cautious here.
Hopefully, he won’t have to miss much more than a couple of weeks.
