NCIS LA finale sneak peek teases Deeks and Kensi firing

NCIS LA finale sneak peek teases Deeks and Kensi firing

Marty Deeks (played by Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) could end the final season of NCIS: Los Angeles on the worst possible terms with current boss Admiral Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney).

After making a grave mistake towards the end of the series, the agents could face demotion or even be forced to leave their positions permanently by the time the credits roll.

In a new sneak peek, Kilbride confronts agents Fatima Namazi (Medalion Rahimi) and Devin Rountree (Caleb Castille) after Deeks and Kensi abandoned their post.

This Sunday’s episode, New Beginnings Part Two, will pick up from the first half of last weekend, as well as bring the popular NCIS spin-off to its conclusion.

Unfortunately, Kilbride wasn’t happy with how the latest mission went down and warned the more junior agents not to fall for the same mistakes as their superiors.

“I am sure that the two of you admire the senior members of this team,” he says.

“And there is much to admire. There is a lot that you can learn from them, too.”

Kilbride admonishes Rountree for interrupting before he continues: “But disobeying orders is not one of those things.”

At the start of the two-parter, the husband-and-wife duo is brought in to assist a case when an undercover ATF agent, William Newsome (Randy Couture), goes missing.

Newsome eventually resurfaces and reveals his stolen weapons case had failed, but he was suspected of stealing the weapons himself due to his newfound wealth.

Thankfully, the agents determined he was clean, but the episode ended on a huge cliffhanger when two other ATF agents were exposed as corrupt and cornered the agents into a deadly shootout.

From the new teaser, it appears the team will manage to make it out alive in the finale, but Kilbride is still unhappy with Deeks and Kensi going rogue.

“With all due respect sir, is what they did technically disobeying orders?” Namazi argues in the scene.

“Absolutely,” Kilbride fires back. “Kensi and Deeks were to remain on overwatch. Now, what the hell would you call it?”

Kilbride assures them there’s “no right or wrong answer” before Rountree suggests, “Taking initiative?”

“Wrong,” Kilbride retorts, to which Rountree protests: “You just said there was no wrong answer.”

“I lied,” the admiral says, suggesting an even tougher grilling for Deeks and Kensi is still to come.

The NCIS: LA team’s new boss has proven a tough nut to crack for the agents following the departure of their stalwart Operations Manager Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) in recent years.

Hopefully, the team manages to patch things up with Kilbride, but the final goodbye to the task force could close on a bittersweet note for two of the series’ most beloved agents.

NCIS: Los Angeles season 14 concludes Sunday, May 21 on CBS in the USA and is available to stream on Paramount+ in the UK.
