The 19th outing of the popular CBS drama is heading into a hiatus to make way for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing. Before the break, fans caught up with Nicolas Torres’ (played by Wilmer Valderrama) latest mission, and the NCIS star has thanked everyone who tuned in on his Instagram page.

Wilmer gave a shout-out to director James Whitmore Jr for delivering the goods behind-the-scenes of the latest episode of NCIS.

His latest Instagram post featured some close-ups of his character Torres during his recent undercover case, where he got beaten within an inch of his life in an underground cage fight.

The star wrote: “I have been so humbled by all of your feedback on this Monday night episode.”

Episode 12, Fight or Flight, contained some huge moments for Agent Torres and a chance for Wilmer to showcase how far he had come since joining NCIS in 2016.

“To my cast, producers, writers and crew.. AND you, our amazing fans,” he continued.

“You all make me better, and your love will be met with the best of me.”

He added a personal tribute to director James to give credit to the man responsible for the latest episode’s intense action sequences.

Wilmer said: “Special shout out to our episode’s director James Whitmore Jr. for always reaching for every moment! I love you brother.”

In addition to the staple NCIS action fans have come to expect, Monday’s episode uncovered some shocking revelations about Wilmer’s character.

Following the departure of Team Leader Leroy Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Torres is still struggling with the loss and facing disciplinary action.

His performance review is coming up, and new leader Alden Parker (Gary Cole) is considering replacing him with nighttime agent, Dale Sawyer (Sean Kanan).

Torres even shocked his new colleague Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) when he admitted he wasn’t concerned about getting fired or demoted.

“Whatever, I’ve lost a job before,” he told her. “Life goes on.”

The latest developments have even caused concerns Torres could be leaving the series by the end of season 19.

NCIS fan @johannesjensen_1995 begged the star: “Noooo does this mean you’ll leave NCIS for a while? I really hope not cause I enjoy your character so much.”

Agent Torres has become a staple of the NCIS franchise in the show’s later years, so hopefully he plans on sticking around for a few more years.

NCIS season 19 continues Mondays on CBS in the USA. A UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
