Netflix nabbed worldwide rights to Chloe Domont’s erotic thriller Fair Play, the Wall Street drama which premiered at Sundance, for $20 million. According to Variety, the film sparked a bidding war among several key distributors like Searchlight and Neon. Moreover, John Carney’s Flora and Son, a musical drama starring Eve Hewson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is also among the features with several bidders.

“An unexpected promotion at a cutthroat hedge fund pushes a young couple’s relationship to the brink, threatening to unravel far more than their recent engagement,” reads the official synopsis for the upcoming psychological thriller. Fair Play also marks Chloe Domont’s debut feature.
The filmmaker previously directed TV series including Billions, Suits and Ballers. “I thought [finance] was a great backdrop because the high-stakes is ripe for drama,” Domont told Variety following the film’s premiere. “It feeds into the toxicity of the relationship, and vice-versa.”
The producers attached are Leopold Hughes and Ben LeClaire from T-Street; Tim White, Trevor White, Allan Mandelbaum from Star Thrower Entertainment. Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman from T-Street served as executive producers on the film backed by MRC.
