The Nets appear to be interested in making a significant trade this summer.
According to a report from Greg Sylvander, the Nets could be the third team involved in a blockbuster trade that would send Blazers guard Damian Lillard to the Heat.
If the Nets are going to enter this deal and help the Heat land an All-Star player like Lillard, they’d like to move on from Ben Simmons’ contract.
Simmons has two years remaining on a $177 million deal. An argument can be made he has the worst contract in the NBA.
This past season, Simmons averaged 6.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. The days of him being a game-changing player are over for now.
The Nets are looking to ship out Ben Simmons in a 3-team deal involving the Brooklyn, Miami and Portland, per @GregSylvander

It’s highly unlikely the Trail Blazers or Heat would want to take on Simmons’ deal in a three-team trade. However, the Nets could sweeten the pot by moving on from some of their draft capital.
Time will tell if the Nets can clear Simmons’ horrible contract from their books.
