Kylian Mbappe rejected Real Madrid by signing a new three-year PSG contract, prompting a furious reaction from LaLiga, who have been described as “corrupt” by ex-Manchester United captain Gary Neville

Gary Neville has labelled LaLiga “corrupt” and told Spanish football chiefs to “do one” following their extraordinary response to Kylian Mbappe ‘s decision to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
The French sensation has signed a new and groundbreaking three-year contract with the club, having previously been set to depart for LaLiga giants Real Madrid when his old deal expired in June. Mbappe’s u-turn, confirmed shortly before he scored a perfectly-timed hat-trick as PSG hammered Metz 5-0 at the Parc des Princes, has left Spanish bigwigs fuming. In a lengthy statement, LaLiga described the situation as “scandalous” and confirmed that a complaint will be filed to UEFA among other authorities.
Neville, however, took aim at them and tweeted: “LaLiga can do one! As corrupt as the rest.” The former Manchester United captain, who took part in a legends charity match on Saturday, spent four months working in Spain as manager of Valencia six years ago.
Mbappe’s hotly-debated decision has made headlines across the globe, with those in Madrid most outraged. Real were heavy favourites to sign the 23-year-old and even offered PSG around £170million for his services last summer, a bid that was firmly rejected in controversial fashion due to Mbappe potentially leaving his hometown club for free 12 months later.
But the France superstar has at last confirmed that he will be sticking around in Paris, much to LaLiga’s anger. “Faced with Kylian Mbappes possible announcement of remaining at Paris Saint-Germain, LaLiga wishes to state that this type of agreement threatens the economic sustainability of European football, putting hundreds of thousands of jobs and sporting integrity at risk in the medium term, not only from European competitions, but also from our domestic leagues,” their statement read.
“It is scandalous that a club like PSG, which last season lost more than 220 million euros, after having accumulated losses of 700 million euros in recent seasons… can face an agreement of these characteristics while those clubs that could accept the arrival of the player without seeing their wage bill compromised, are left without being able to sign him.

“LaLiga is going to file a complaint against PSG before UEFA, French administrative and tax authorities and before the competent bodies of the European Union, to continue defending the economic ecosystem of European football and its sustainability.”
Parisians were delighted with the outcome, though, as PSG’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, declared: “Kylian’s commitment to PSG represents an amazing milestone in the history of our Club, and a wonderful moment for our fans around the world. Since the day Kylian joined our family, he has achieved greatness beyond his years on every single stage.
“In committing to PSG, he will be the foundation of our club’s future both on and off the field. I am incredibly proud and very happy – for Kylian, for our fans, and our entire PSG family worldwide – that we will continue our wonderful journey together. For our fans and our club, the greatest chapters of our future lie ahead.”
