And this is the issue.. not only are video games getting more expensive, but it’s also relative to everything else. Before COVID a weekly food shop for me was about £60, now it’s £90. That’s a 33% increase in 2 years. Not to mention other bills etc.
Luckily I get above average wage here in the UK so I can take the hit, but a lot of people can’t. Gaming is a luxary yes, but it’s also a working man/woman’s form of entertainment. Inflating game prices will exclude a lot of people, a lot of the people who probably make up a massive part of your audience.
If these companies were posting lower profits, or losing out yoy I could understand, but when they’re talking about selling more units than PS4, record breaking profits every quarter, it’s hard to call it anything over than greed from all these companies increasing their prices.
