Aston Martin has revealed a new, high-performance version of its DBX SUV. Called the DBX707 – a nod towards its power output in metric horsepower – the car features an upgraded version of the company’s twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 engine.
Maximum power has been increased by 155 horsepower to 697hp, while torque is up significantly, by 148lb ft to 663lb ft. For European readers, the power output is 707PS and the torque is a nice, round 900Nm.

Tobias Moers, chief executive officer of Aston Martin, said: “With the DBX707 we have pushed the boundaries in every area to create a car which sets new standards of performance and desirability. The fastest, most powerful, best handling and most engaging car of its kind, it propels Aston Martin to the pinnacle of SUV performance.”
As well as increasing power, Aston Martin has paid attention to the DBX’s transmission, suspension and brakes to upgrade the entire driving experience. The transmission now features a new nine-speed, wet clutch gearbox, promising much faster gear changes and, Aston says, “a dramatic character change” compared to the regular DBX.
The new transmission also helps to launch the car off the line more quickly, and the DBX707 boasts a claimed 0-60mph time of 3.1 seconds, down significantly from the 4.3sec of the regular model. This sprint time is unlocked with the use of a new ‘Race Start’ function available in GT Sport and Sport+ drive modes. The top speed is 193mph, up from 181mph.
As you might expect from a large SUV with such performance, the brakes have also been upgraded. Carbon ceramic discs are fitted as standard, measuring 420mm at the front and 390mm at the rear; all four are gripped by six-piston callipers. The switch from steel to carbon discs sees an 89-pound saving in unsprung mass. The brakes sit behind 22-inch wheels as standard, but now a 23-inch option is also available, fitted with larger-diameter tires.
Aston Martin has fitted the DBX707 with an updated electronic limited-slip rear differential, strengthened to handle the extra torque and given a shorter final drive to help the car sprint through the lower gears more quickly. The company also says it has adjusted the electronic power steering to improve feel by increasing steering weight off-center.
Externally, the DBX707 features a new quad-tailpipe exhaust system, a larger, satin chrome front grille, and new daytime running lights. There are also new air intakes and brake cooling ducts, plus a new front splitter, enlarged rear diffuser, new rear bumper and bigger exhaust tips.
The interior has also received a handful of upgrades, including sport seats that are now fitted as standard (comfort seats are available as a no-cost option), and choices of Alcantara and Semi-Aniline leather. As with the exterior, dark chrome is fitted as standard, or regular chrome and carbon fiber can be fitted as an option.
Aston Martin says production of the DBX707 is due to begin in the first quarter of 2022, with deliveries to start in the second quarter. The company is yet to announce a price for the DBX707; the regular model is priced from $176,900.
