Amazon Prime VIdeo’s Road House has unveiled the first look at Jake Gyllenhaal and UFC fighter Conor McGregor in the upcoming remake of the 1986 cult action classic.

Released in 1989, the original Road House starred Patrick Swayze as James Dalton, a zen bouncer hired to clean up a rough-and-tumble bar in Missouri. Dalton’s successful enterprise attracts the ire of the corrupt businessman (Ben Gazzara) that controls the small town.
The film was a modest box office success, grossing $30 million against a reported $15 million budget, and has since accrued the reputation of a cult classic. In the remake, Jake Gyllenhaal plays a former UFC fighter who, per an official synopsis, takes a job as a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys, but soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise.
The film will mark former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor’s first acting stint. The Road House cast also includes Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen and Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, Joaquim de Almeida, Darren Barnet, Kevin Carroll, and J. D. Pardo.
Road House is directed by Doug Liman and produced by the original film’s producer Joel Silver who is producing via his company. Doug is set to helm the remake based on a script penned by writers Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. Silver Pictures. JJ Hook, Alison Winter and Aaron Auch will executive produce.
No release date has been set for the remake film.
