One of the bestselling subcompact SUVs in the country, Tata Nexon has witnessed consistent growth ever since it was launched in September 2017. It has played a key role in helping Tata enter the list of top three carmakers in the country. Nexon recently achieved the production milestone of 5 lakh units.

With Nexon contributing a significant chunk of Tata’s overall passenger car sales, it is imperative that the SUV remains relevant to evolving market dynamics. Towards that end, Tata is working on the facelift version of Nexon. It is expected to be launched later this year.

Tata Nexon DCA Interiors Spied – new details emerge

A new set of images reveal interesting details about interiors of Nexon facelift. One of the key updates expected is a DCA gearbox. It could be the same as the 6-speed unit used with Tata Altroz. Or Nexon facelift could get an entirely new 7-speed DCA. With DCA in place, the 6-speed AMT option is likely to be discontinued. Another possible update is paddle shifters, although it’s not very clear in the images.

2023 Tata Nexon DCA will be getting a new two-spoke, flat bottom steering wheel. It appears to be largely the same as that of Curvv Concept. Steering mounted controls comprise toggle switches as well as multiple touch-sensitive haptic buttons. Another cool feature seen with Curvv was an integrated backlit panel in the centre of the steering wheel with Tata logo. Nexon facelift’s steering wheel has a similar design, which presents the possibility of the backlit panel being offered with top-spec variants.

Other updates for Nexon facelift include a refreshed dashboard, redesigned centre console, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and new digital instrument cluster. The SUV also gets new purple upholstery, which is truly captivating.

On the outside too, a number of features have been borrowed from Curvv Concept. Nexon facelift is expected to get a wide LED light bar, new grille with cascading effect, refreshed body cladding, new set of alloy wheels and sequential turn indicators. The updates will be available for Nexon EV as well. There are speculations about ADAS, but a test mule with radar module is yet to be spotted.

Nexon facelift new petrol motor

Nexon facelift could get a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor that was seen with Curvv ICE Concept. It generates 125 PS of max power and 225 Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the existing 1.2-litre petrol unit makes 120 PS and 170 Nm. Clearly, the new engine promises more exhilarating rides. The 1.5-litre diesel unit will be retained in its current format. It makes 115 PS and 260 Nm. Both engines have transmission choices of 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT.

Production of Nexon facelift is expected to commence from July 2023. Nexon facelift prices could command a premium of around Rs 60k to 80k. The current model is available in the range of Rs 7.80 lakh to Rs 14.35 lakh, ex-sh
