The Tragically Hip are honouring the 14 victims and survivors of the Ecole Polytechnique massacre with a commemorative video of Montreal, created by Mike Downie (Gord’s brother) and Tim Thompson.
The song, about the horrific attack, is from their 2021 album Saskadelphia.
“We stand with the families of the 14 victims and the survivors of the femicide at Ecole Polytechnique in 1989,” The Tragically Hip said in a statement.
“(Dec. 6) marks 32 years. We fully support their ongoing effort to ban all semi-automatic assault weapons. Please visit polyremembers.ca to learn more and donate.”

Proceeds from the collectible Flexi Disc single, to commemorate the anniversary, will be donated to PolyRemembers/PolySeSouvient, supporting families of the victims.
