Newcastle ‘weighing up enormous £116m bid for Napoli duo’ including one Man Utd target

Newcastle United have been tipped to approach Napoli with a monumental £116million (€140m) double bid for Victor Osimhen and reported Manchester United target Fabian Ruiz this summer. And the Naples outfit have been encouraged to accept such an offer to help bolster Luciano Spalletti’s squad.

In January, Newcastle were the Premier League’s top spenders, splashing £93m on five players to boost Eddie Howe’s squad.

The club’s £40m capture of Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes particularly caught the eye, and more transfers of that calibre could be on the horizon at St. James’ Park.

According to journalist Paolo Bargiggia, Newcastle are prepared to offer £33m (€40m) for Fabian and £83m (€100m) for Osimhen this summer.

The Magpies plan to heavily invest again under Saudi-backed ownership after a busy January transfer window, and the duo could show up on their radar.

And Italian pundit Paolo Del Genio has urged the Serie A giants to accept the mammoth double offer if it arrives and use the funds to strengthen their entire squad.

He told Kiss Kiss (via Tutto Napoli): “Accepting €140m for Fabian and Osimhen from Newcastle in the summer? That’s right. If they stay up.

“Then they would be two painful losses, but with that money, you make a very, very strong team. With that money, you get four, five very strong elements.

“Even if you don’t replace those two with two equally strong eventually, however you can be stronger as a squad and in football you win with the squad.”
