The sparkly red jacket and turtleneck at last week’s NBA Draft are part of the reason, but Dick was spotted getting to know his new home over the weekend and fans are loving him.

The 19-year-old from Kansas was more than happy to pose for selfies as he perused the city, strolling through Roundhouse Park.

One man didn’t know who Dick was, but with the sharp-shooter standing at 6-foot-8, it’s fair to say he knew he was in the midst of a soon-to-be big name.

“Didn’t know who he was, but got a good pic though,” one man tweeted, yet he still managed to hashtag Dick’s name.

Unlike him, another user tweeted about his run-in with Dick and his parents, calling the shooting guard “super nice” and a “down to earth guy.”

Dick was mobbed by a crowd of fans outside of SOCO Kitchen + Bar near the Rogers Centre on Saturday, when people lined up to take selfies with him.

On Sunday, Dick attended the Blue Jays game where he received a warm welcome from the city’s boys of summer.

He was joined by the other newest Raptor, Markquis Nowell, an undrafted free agent out of rival Kansas State.

But perhaps the biggest reason Dick has to love the city — aside from getting signed by the 2019 NBA champions, of course — is Raptors global ambassador Drake.
