Over the past year, James Bond fans have been yearning to find out who exactly is going to take over from Daniel Craig. The British star stepped down from the series following the release of his fifth movie, No Time To Die, which hit cinemas last year.
The official announcement of the next James Bond will hopefully come within the upcoming months, but until then, the ever-changing Bond odds are the best way of predicting who will next play 007. And, for a while, Henry Cavill has been at the top of the leaderboard.
Cavill has become a pop culture icon in the past decade, taking on such massive roles as Superman and Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher.
And, at the time of writing, Ladbrokes has awarded the British actor an incredible set of odds. The bookies recently gave the Netflix actor a staggering 2/1 on becoming the next star to don the tuxedo.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Henry Cavill will take some shifting at the head of the betting at this rate; he’s fast becoming one of the most popular picks in the book with our punters in the race to replace Daniel Craig.”
Although, he still has some stiff competition in the form of Regé-Jean Page, better known as the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset.
Page played the Bridgerton hunk in the first season of the Netflix series and has since become a huge Hollywood star.
Since then, he has appeared in The Grey Man with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, and also stars in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie.
As a result, Ladbrokes have awarded the star an impressive 7/2 on becoming the new James Bond.
In the past, he has mused that being considered for Bond is just flattery. But that flattery may be coming to an end, as one of his fellow Bridgerton actors is now in the running to play 007.

Joining Bailey in this new influx of stars keen to become James Bond is Jack Lowden. The newcomer is best known for appearing in Dunkirk as an RAF fighter pilot.
Apati said: “There’s a queue of A-listers closing the gap on the leading frontrunners, though, with Jack Lowden and Jonathan Bailey the latest to see their odds slashed.”
Of course, elsewhere in the odds are some major players and familiar faces, including Tom Hardy. The Venom and Mad Max actor was the favourite to become Bond for years after Craig announced his exit. Things have cooled down for him of late but he still remains in contention.
Hardy currently has an incredible 5/1 on becoming Bond next, placing him fourth in Ladbrokes’ running. But he has a long way to go to beat the Brit who is just ahead of him: Idris Elba.
The Suicide Squad actor might have previously said he’d rather remain as the actor for Luther on BBC, but he has powerful odds.
He is currently just behind Page with a staggering 4/1. And with the Bond bosses, Barbara Broccoli & Michael G Wilson, claiming he is “part of the conversation” for the next movie, he may stand a good chance.
James Bond No Time To Die is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.
