Nigella, 62, says she is “excited” by her partnership with delivery firm Ocado – and “rather thrilled to be doing something new at my age. It’s put quite a spring in my step”.
She said she would share a list of her favourite Nigella Loves products, plus exclusive recipes. Among the first four cost-saving dinners is her “dreamy creamy peanut butter pasta”, said to be a family favourite.
The others are feta cheese, black bean and clementine couscous, a “cosy supper stir-fry” and speedy steamed syrup sponge.
The food writer has also picked out some of her favourite products and pantry essentials.
The recipes will be on a Nigella Loves section on Ocado’s website.
The deal with Ocado Retail, part-owned by Marks & Spencer, comes as shoppers face soaring food bills. Official figures show the cost of supermarket budget food rose an average 17 per cent in the last year.
Pasta and vegetable oil soared by almost two-thirds. Rises in milk, bread and biscuits are also well above 10.1 per cent general inflation.
Ocado said the tie-up with Nigella was a “match made in heaven”.
Its research found nearly six in 10 households are on the hunt for more budget-friendly recipes this autumn.
More than half claim they will try to use forgotten ingredients lurking at the back of cupboards.
Mum-of-two Nigella, right, said: “I’m so thrilled to be joining with Ocado to come up with everyday recipes to make life easier and more delicious. Sharing my enthusiasm and my food has always been a motivating force.” Ocado said the launch recipes would feed four for no more than £1.25 per portion.
