A stacked match card for the show has been announced where four major championships from Raw and SmackDown will be on the line. Also, for the very first time, there will be three separate women’s division matches in a Saudi Arabia event.
To bring in the grand feel, WWE is currently promoting Triple Main Event for Night of Champions 2023 – the World Heavyweight Championship Match, Roman Reigns’ tag team match, and Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes II.
A reliable source BWE tweeted out behind their private Twitter account that WWE is experimenting with the PLE main event. This is because the creative team does have three matches of real main event-worthy options on the deck.
“Remember: the show is heavily branded as a “Three Mainevent” PLE. Stuff like that are experiments from the team to try to open a bigger window for other talents to have their spots. Its how the community accept the changes.”
Moving on, BWE also discussed the lineups set for Night of Champions and revealed that the current plan is to kick off the main show with the World Heavyweight Title Match between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles.
The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Title match should close the PLE given Roman Reigns will be in action in this one. The Tribal Chief is completing 1000 days as the undisputed champion which might also call for a celebration by the end of the night.
It was also noted that whenever Brock Lesnar is competing in an event, then he either features in the first or last match. If that trend continues the chances are high that the WHC finale could be moved to the middle of the card.
In addition, SmackDown roster member LA Knight has reportedly received tremendous feedback from the local audience of Saudi Arabia. Hence, speculations are that LA might just get added to Night of Champions card.
Going by the given statement from BWE, LA Knight vs. Rick Boogs could go down in the Kick-Off Pre-Show segment, “Not shocking, but LAK was super over with the Saudis. They’re discussing adding him v Boogs during kickoff.”
WWE Night of Champions 2023 Premium Live Event takes place this Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The confirmed match card for the PLE is given below:
– Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes
– Tournament Final to crown new WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Seth Rollins vs. AJ Styles
