Amid uncertainty over its relationship with Ja Morant, Nike released his new signature shoes on Thursday.
Last week, Nike removed Morant’s sneakers from its site after another video surfaced of the Memphis Grizzlies star flashing a gun. However, the company launched the latest Ja 1 “Hunger” shoes on the SNKRS app.
Per TMZ, an “incredibly small supply” of the sneakers quickly sold out.

Nike signed Morant in 2019, and the Ja 1 line became of its most popular products. Demand appears to remain sky-high despite his off-court turmoil.
After the first video of him brandishing a firearm in a Denver nightclub surfaced in March, Nike issued a statement standing by the 23-year-old.
“We appreciate Ja’s accountability and that he is taking the time to get the help he needs. We support his prioritization of his well-being,” the company’s statement said, via Shams Charania.
However, Nike has yet to comment on his latest incident. The Grizzlies suspended him indefinitely pending a league investigation.
Morant caused concern by writing “Bye” in a cryptic Instagram post on Wednesday. Police said he told them he’s fine and is just taking a break from social media.
