A championship parade is an awesome communal moment for a team and its fanbase. However, some fans take things a little overboard.
During the Nuggets’ title celebration on Thursday, an overzealous fan tried to toss a beer to Denver star Nikola Jokic.
Unfortunately, the errant throw hit off another person standing on Jokic’s float before striking his wife Natalija in the face, narrowly missing their daughter in the process.

Thankfully, Natalija didn’t appear to be seriously hurt by the flying beer. That situation could have been much worse.
We’ve seen multiple instances of crowd members at these parades throwing beers to players on floats and having everything go as planned.
Take Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who famously chugged an adult beverage tossed to him during the team’s first Super Bowl celebration over three years ago.
Today was an example of how things can sometimes go awry.
