We’re close to launch

Although Nintendo dubbed the most recent event for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom the “final trailer,” they weren’t counting commercials! The Nintendo of Japan YouTube account dropped several new videos late last night, and they have kernels of new footage to peruse.

Those kernels are very “blink and you’ll miss it” stuff (including the beach scene), as much of the reels from the trio of commercials include compilations of the prior two major trailers (the 10-minute one and the aforementioned “final” trailer). I mean, I think Zelda fans are already sold, and potentially at their limit of what they wanted to see. Going in blind in Tears of the Kingdom is probably going to be really rewarding for folks, especially when it comes to discerning the little mechanical nuances between the sequel and its predecessor.

Funnily enough, these clips do give you a pretty good idea of what to expect from the Japanese voice cast, which sounds fantastic. You can check out all three commercials below, or peruse through the Japanese Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom site.

Nintendo also dropped a Zelda: Breath of the Wild recap video just in time

In case you need a refresher, you can check out this recap video that goes through the entire plot of the previous game: Breath of the Wild. Note that there are spoilers present (!) and you don’t need to understand Japanese to get the gist of what’s going on.

Odds are you’ve already played Breath of the Wild and were one of the millions who experienced it, but you never know!
