Mohamed Salah can’t stop scoring right now for Liverpool.
He netted two goals in the Merseyside derby as his side won 4-1 at Goodison Park against Everton.
In just 14 Premier League games, Salah has 13 goals and added eight assists as the Reds look set to battle it out with Chelsea and Man City for the title.
The Egypt star has been unstoppable this year and many have labelled him the best player in the world right now.
So it was perhaps a little surprising that he only came seventh in the Ballon d’Or, with the top prize going to Lionel Messi on Monday.
He was behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Chelsea duo N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
While many thought Robert Lewandowski should have beaten Messi to the award, Salah’s seemingly low position also raised some eyebrows.
He was asked about it in his interview after beating Everton and said: “I have no comment.”
Salah couldn’t help but smile at the question, though, but did not elaborate.
It was a fine night for Liverpool on the pitch and exactly what Jurgen Klopp would have asked for.
“The message from the manager was that they’re going to play physically strong, go and challenge 100 per cent every ball,” said Salah.
“We just need to play our game and keep the ball and create chances which is what we did.”
