Fact Check

We began our investigation using reverse image search with the key frames of the video and the results led us a report from The Indian Express dated 25, March 2019, which featured Ahuja wearing the same attire. Per the report, fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla organised a fashion show in Mumbai, paying tribute to Indian textiles and embroidery. Celebrities like Karan Johar and Shweta Nanda Bachchan also featured in it alongside Ahuja.

In further search we also discovered a YouTube video in which Sonam Kapoor danced to “Ghar More Pardesiya,” a song from the Hindi film “Kalank,” during the occasion. It was evident from this that “God Save The King” was eventually added to the viral video. A complete video of this show was uploaded to the official YouTube channel of Viral Bollywood.

We also found a similar video on a verified YouTube channel Pop Dairies uploaded on 25 March 2019. According to the caption, the video shows Sonam Kapoor dancing as she walks the ramp at Bombay Times Fashion Week 2019. The video also shows Kapoor walking with Karan Johan and Sandeep Khosla.

Furthermore, King Charles III’s coronation will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6 May, followed by a concert on 7 May. As a result, it is apparent that this footage of Sonam Kapoor is from March 2019 and has nothing to do with the coronation ceremony.

Conclusion

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The viral video was shot in March 2019, during Sonam Kapoor’s appearance at a fashion show in Mumbai. It has nothing to do with the coronation ceremony of King Charles III.
