November is often associated as a senior pet’s month. In order to celebrate it, Lizzy’s Fund is paying the adoption fees to all the participating shelters and rescues in order to find homes for senior dogs. It’s also helping the new adoptive family with a senior blood panel.
This fund is a local 501(c)(3) charity that financially supports senior dogs as well as rescues living in the shelters. Usually dogs enter their senior years when they are 7-years-old – in large breeds this might take place earlier and in few scenarios, it can even be later for smaller ones.
The fund was established back in 2012 which pays for all medical, dental, surgical, grooming and alternative medical care for seasoned canines that unfortunately end up in rescues and shelters even when they aren’t at fault. The Lizzy’s Fund aims to help senior dog companions get healthy and find loving forever homes by raising awareness about the benefits of senior canine companions and the possibilities for their quality care.
