With the Miami Heat’s season on the line, Tyler Herro is available to return from a hand injury that’s sidelined him since April 16. Denver Nuggets head coach Mike Malone isn’t sweating Herro suiting up for Game 5.
Before Monday night’s NBA Finals tipoff, Malone told reporters Herro’s return wouldn’t alter his game plan.
“It doesn’t change anything,” Malone said. “If they throw him out there, they throw him out there.”

Herro averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game during the regular season. In his absence, the Heat have received big minutes from Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, and Kyle Lowry in the backcourt.
While Malone isn’t fixated on Herro’s return, he still joked about feeling anxious before the Nuggets attempt to cement their first NBA championship.
“I slept like a baby… I got up every two hours and cried,” he said, via DNVR Nuggets.
After nearly two months on the sidelines, the Heat are turning to Herro for a last-second spark. Down 3-1, they must win three straight games to pull off arguably the most improbable run in NBA history.
Game 5 starts at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
