The Denver Nuggets on Monday night finally won their first NBA championship, 47 years after merging into the league in 1976 along with three other teams from the disbanded American Basketball Association.

This, after knocking off the Miami Heat in five games.
It was only the fifth season in which the Nuggets had even reached a conference final and only time they’d reached the NBA Finals.
The tally of title-less NBA, NHL, NFL and Major League Baseball franchises will drop by one more, to 36, as early as Tuesday night if the Vegas Golden Knights should knock off the visiting Florida Panthers in the NHL’s Stanley Cup final. Neither franchise has won a Cup, so by next week only one will remain title-less.
