NYCC ’22: Tieri & Faerber’s HARLEY SCREWS UP THE DCU, Hawthorne on BATMAN, and more from the Gotham City panel

Today’s Gotham City panel at New York Comic Con offered attendees a recap of the many Batman-related goings-on across the DC Universe. Moderated by DC Executive Editor Ben Abernathy, the panel also unveiled a new Harley Quinn miniseries from writer Frank Tieri and artist Logan Faerber, and announced artist Mike Hawthorne will fill-in on the Chip Zdarsky-written Batman series.

March 2023 will see the launch of Multiversity: Harley Screws Up the DCU, a six-issue miniseries from Tieri and Faerber. Tieri has written Harley’s adventures on numerous previous occasions, both in the character’s ongoing series and in miniseries like Harley Quinn and her Gang of Harleys. Faerber has also worked on Harley before, illustrating the Harley Quinn – The New Sidekicks of Gotham one-shot. 

The other news from the panel was of Hawthorne’s Batman fill-in. Jorge Jimenez remains on the series as regular artist, with Hawthorne filling in for three issues beginning with January’s Batman #131. The fill-in marks a reunion between Hawthorne and Zdarsky, who previously worked together on Marvel’s Daredevil ongoing series. Hawthorne’s first two issues will feature variant covers by Joe Quesada in his return to DC as announced earlier this weekend.

Beyond the two pieces of news, DC unveiled new covers and interior artwork from such titles as Paul Dano and Stevan Subic‘s The Riddler: Year One, Meghan Fitzmartin and Riley Rossmo‘s Tim Drake: Robin, Ed Brisson and John Timms‘s Batman, Incorporated, and Ram V and Rafael Albuquerque‘s Detective Comics.
