Get ready for an evening of amazing gospel music when artistic director Terrance Kelly leads the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir in its annual Holiday Concert on Dec. 3.
It will mark the 37th such seasonal celebration for the award-winning troupe, which got its start in 1986 and has since gone on to perform/record with such acclaimed acts as Five Blind Boys of Alabama, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Linda Ronstadt, MC Hammer and Tramaine Hawkins.
The concert — which is titled “Still Standing” — will feature three Oakland Interfaith ensembles as well as guest performers and takes place at 7:30 p.m. in the Oakland Scottish Rite Center’s Grand Auditorium in Oakland. Tickets are $30-$100. Can’t make it to the event in person? You can stream the show online for $15.
Earlier that same day, the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir and the Oakland Youth Chorus will host their Yuletide Youth Holiday Concert in the same venue.
The concert will feature Oakland Interfaith Youth Choir, Oakland Interfaith Kids Choir, OYC (Oakland Youth Chorus) Miracles, OYC Concert Chorus and OYC Chamber Singers.
Showtime is 2:30 p.m. and tickets are $20-$25.
