Ohio State vs. Purdue prediction and odds for Sunday, February 19 (Purdue bounces back)

The Purdue Boilermakers have dropped back-to-back games on the road against the Northwestern Wildcats and Maryland Terrapins heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State has been extremely disappointing this season, going just 3-12 in conference play and losing seven straight games coming into this matchup.

Purdue only beat the Buckeyes by two earlier this season in Columbus, but Ohio State has looked much worse since then, losing 11 of its last 12 games. Can the Buckeyes turn things around against Zach Edey and company?

I have very little confidence in the Buckeys to be able to cover this double-digit spread, as they’ve been one of the worst road teams in the Big Ten this season.

Ohio State is just 1-8 straight up on the road, and it’s struggled against the spread, going 8-18 in the 2022-23 season.

Purdue’s recent losses are certainly concerning for the team long term, but the Boilermakers are usually money at home, going 12-1 straight up this season.

The Boilermakers’ rank inside the top-15 in opponent points per game and opponent true shooting percentage, which should be a problem for an Ohio State offense that ranks 132nd in the country in points per game and put up just 41 points in a recent loss to Michigan State.
