The latest addition to this series of debunks is a video of a broad daylight murder on a crowded road in Hyderabad. This old and unrelated video was shared as a deadly attack on a Hindi-speaking migrant labourer in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu few days back. Let us see the details of the incident and the false narrative spreading around it on social media platforms.
Shocking Video of a Broad Daylight Murder

The above video shows shocking visuals of a man being hacked to death in broad daylight in the middle of a busy road. Onlookers capture the incident on their cameras and rarely someone came forward to help the victim. We can also see Police Patrol Vehicles passing by the road where this incident is taking place.
The caption of the post is as follows: “Tamil Nadu Tirupur Hindi Controversy Sadak Per Kaise Maar Raha Hai Hamara Hindi Bhai Logon Ko”. This roughly translates to Tamil Nadu Tirupur Hindi Controversy: Look how our Hindi brothers are being attacked on the streets!
However, this video is not from Tamil Nadu. Let us fact-check and find out the actual details on the incident.

If we observe the video closely, we can see the name Cyberabad Police written on the Police Patrol Vehicles.
Cyberabad Metropolitan Police is a Police division in Rangareddy district of Telangana with its commissionerate located at Gachibowli, Hyderabad. We also saw the watermark of a Tamil entertainment website Galatta.com on the video. Taking these cues, we did a keyword search on YouTube and found the original video posted by Galatta.com on their YouTube Channel.
The video was posted on September 26, 2018. The title of the video says, ‘Brutal Murder in front of Police’. We did more keyword search on Google and found a report on this incident by NDTV.
As per the NDTV Report, the name of the victim was Ramesh and he was the main accused in a murder case. He was facing trial on the charges of murdering one Mahesh Goud. Mahesh Goud’s father Krishna Goud and his uncle Laxman Goud murdered Ramesh after he was returning from the court on September 26, 2018.
While speaking to NDTV, a police officer said, “Two policemen went to get their batons. By the time they returned, it was too late. Both the accused have been arrested.” When asked about patrol car not stopping to help the victim. The officer explained that the car went ahead and parked, as it cannot be stopped in the middle of the road.
Conclusion
The video being shared as Hindi-speaking labourer attacked in Tamil Nadu is actually a video of an old incident from Hyderabad. Our investigations shows, that the video is of a brutal broad daylight murder of a murder accused by the relatives of the man allegedly murdered by the accused.
