Olivia Culpo has no hard feelings toward Carolina.
Culpo’s boyfriend, star running back Christian McCaffrey, was traded from the Panthers to the 49ers Thursday night in the middle of his sixth season with the former. Culpo’s initial response was that she had “so many emotions right now” and “was ready for anything” with McCaffrey. She followed it up with a heartfelt note to Charlotte, with an accompanying video set to James Taylor’s “Carolina.”
“This city stole my heart and I’ll never forget the memories and people who made the last 3+ years so special. I’ll miss you all so much and you’ll always hold a special place in my heart,” Culpo wrote, with a crying emoji. “I’m so proud of you Christian! Seeing your light shine is one of my favorite things in life and I’m beyond excited and grateful for this next chapter in Cali, the place I’ve called home for the last 8 years ❤️ Niners Nation, let’s go!”
The 30-year-old model added a postscript thanking all the flight attendants she met along the way: “Ps- to all of my LAX to CLT flight attendants on American Airlines. Love you guys and thank you for the heavy pours. I won’t be seeing you as often but we had a good run ????????”
McCaffrey and Culpo were first linked in 2019.
The running back has 85 carries for 393 yards and two touchdowns, to go with 33 catches for 277 yards and a touchdown so far this season.
He enters an offense helmed by Kyle Shanhan in San Francisco that is known to put a heavy emphasis on the run game.
After the trade, the 49ers moved from 18-to-1 to win the Super Bowl to 14-to-1 on FanDuel.
