Olivia Rodrigo, Foo Fighters, Keith Urban, Tool and more big shows coming to Denver

T(w)een queen Olivia Rodigro, who’s riding high on year-end lists, Grammy nominations and big debuts at the American Music Awards and MTV’s Video Music Awards, is playing the relatively compact Mission Ballroom when she stops through Denver, April 11-12, 2022. The 18-year-old “High School Musical: The Series” and Disney Channel veteran this week unveiled a massive tour of the U.S., Canada and Europe, with opener Gracie Abrams. Tickets for the all-ages Denver concerts are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10. ($50-$90, axs.com)

Also riding high this year: Enduring pop-rockers Foo Fighters, whose leader Dave Grohl has seemingly been everywhere lately as part of the band’s 27th anniversary (LOL) festivities. Foo Fighters’ 14-date North American tour brings it to the 76,125-seat Empower Field at Mile High on Aug. 6, 2022. Tickets for the all-ages show, which went on sale Dec. 3, will likely not be in short supply for quite awhile. ($35-$119.50, axs.com)

Pop-country king Keith Urban returns to Denver for a Sept 16, 2022, concert as part of his “The Speed of Now World Tour.” Tickets for the all-ages set at Ball Arena are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10. The show will feature an opening set from Ingrid Andress, who came up in Denver and has been tearing up critic’s lists this year. (Prices not yet available, axs.com)

Laidback acoustic singer-songwriter Jack Johnson returns to Greenwood Village’s Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre for an Aug. 31 concert, part of his 2022 summer tour of North America with opener Ziggy Marley. Marley also plays an all-ages, May 29, 2022 concert with Stephen Marley and Ben Harper & Innocent Criminals as part of this year’s Red Rocks Bob Marley celebration, rescheduled from last year ($80-$130). Tickets for the all-ages Fiddler’s show are $41.50-$91.50 and on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10. Tickets for both shows are available at axs.com.

John Mulaney joins the list of big comics — Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, Sara Silverman — who have taken to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre stage over the years with a Sunday, April 17, 2022, date — part of the new “From Scratch” tour. The name is a nod to the controversy Mulaney has seen in recent months, from divorcing his wife for Olivia Munn to disclosing that he went back to rehab. Tickets for the show are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10. Ticket prices were not made available, as is promoter Live Nation’s policy. (axs.com)

Hard-rock act Tool plans to headline Denver’s Ball Arena on Jan. 27 and Colorado Springs’ Broadmoor World Arena on Jan. 28, with guest Blonde Redhead (the latter nearly worth the price of admission).
