Jenna Ortega’s iconic Wednesday dance, which she herself choreographed, has been recreated by 16-year-old Olympic figure skater Kamila Valieva. As shared by CBR tabloid, Valieva performed her Wednesday-inspired routine during the recent 2023 Russian Figure Skating Championships. The professional skater embodied the spirit of Wednesday Addams as she performed in black pigtails, wearing a ruffled black dress similar to the one worn by Ortega in the show.

From dark makeup to Ortega’s iconic serious grim look, Valieva pulled off every single detail of Wednesday Addams. Taking to the rink and nailing the facial expressions, Valieva began her performance by skating to Danny Elfman’s theme to the Netflix series.
The music then switched to The Cramps’ ‘Goo Goo Muck’ which was featured in Wednesday’s routine at the Rave’N dance at Nevermore Academy. Valieva closed the routine with sped-up version of Lady Gaga’s ‘Bloody Mary’ which has gone viral on TikTok and other social media platforms as fans started recreating the iconic Wednesday dance.
Following her stellar performance, Valieva took home the silver medal at the Russian Figure Skating Championships but the pro skater stayed in character, even when being handed a bouquet of roses after her performance.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Still Watching Netflix, Ortega talked about how she choreographed the dance, and opened up about her initial fear of sharing it with the world. “I actually felt really insecure about this,” she shared at the time. “I choreographed that myself and I think it’s very obvious that I’m not a dancer or choreographer.”
The first season of Tim Burton’s Wednesday is now streaming on Netflix.
