The Boston Celtics managed to avoid a sweep in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals and now one ESPN analyst believes that they’ll make history by winning the whole series.

During ESPN’s pre-game coverage of Game 5, former NBA champion Richard Jefferson declared that not only is he picking the Celtics to win against the Miami Heat tonight, he’s picking the to make history and become the first team to overcome a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs to win.

“It’s going to be Boston. Boston is going to be the first team to come back,” Jefferson said.

Richard Jefferson is clearly in the minority as none of his fellow analysts would endorse his prediction. Even Twitter fans are having a hard time believing that the Celtics can do it, regardless of how good they look:

“I disagree, although I do believe they have the best chance in history to do it,” one fan replied.

“Now that he said this I have major doubts the Celtics come back. Jimmy gonna play out of his mind one of these next games and they gonna be like Nuggets and prove people like this wrong,” wrote another.

“They better hope so, bacause if they lose to a “broken 8th seed team”, that would be the worse upset in sports history tbh….so again, who’s the pressure on?” a third wrote.

Even some of the greats in NBA history have failed to overcome a 3-0 deficit.
