Music journalist Steve Rosen declared Sept. 25 as National One-Hit Wonder Day in 1990, to commemorate “artists who had their five minutes of fame once upon a time and have since been wiped from our memories,” according to National Today.
Though the idea to pay homage to the many great hit songs by long-forgotten artists was Rosen’s intent, Sept. 25 also doubles as his birthday. (Happy Birthday, Mr. Rosen, and thank you for writing about everything rock n’roll since 1973.)
In celebration of the holiday, let’s get some very famous one-hit wonders stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
