Bandai Namco’s superb role-playing game Tales of Arise is available as a free download for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. As part of Microsoft’s Free Play Days promotion, Tales of Arise can be downloaded for free for the duration of the weekend. All you need is an Xbox Game Pass Core subscription and you can play the entirety of Tales of Arise for free until the morning of October 9.
It’s a great way to get ready for the release of the game’s Beyond the Dawn expansion, which launches this November.
Microsoft explains more: “As two worlds of conflict converge in Tales of Arise, two people from opposite walks of life join forces to challenge their fates and create a new future.
“Along the way, meet up with a unique cast of allies, all with their own reasons to fight.
“Featuring a real-time combat system, battles are energetic and enthralling with countless combinations of skills and abilities.”
In addition to Tales of Arise, Game Pass Core subscribers can grab For the King and Trine 5 as part of the Free Play Days promotion.
Playable in solo or co-operatively, For The King is a strategic RPG that’s said to blend tabletop and roguelike elements.
“For The King is a challenging blend of strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements,” reads the official description.
“Each playthrough is unique with procedural maps, quests, and events. Explore Fahrul in either single player, local, or online co-op.
“Just remember adventurer, you do this not for riches or fame but for your village, for your realm, For The King!”
Finally, Trine 5 is a side-scrolling platform game with a fantasy setting and puzzle elements.
“Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy will take Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight on their most action-packed journey yet!
“With their reputations tarnished, loved ones in danger, and their own magical powers at stake, the Heroes of Trine must reunite to push back a fearsome Clockwork army and bring peace and justice to the land!”
