Yusuke Murata recently grabbed the attention of the entire manga community by delivering some of the most captivating One-Punch Man chapters. The illustrations in the last few chapters took One-Punch Man to a whole different level. However, there’s one more thing that got people talking about Murata’s manga series. In the recent chapter of One-Punch Man, we’ve seen Garou getting hold of God’s powers, making him one of the most powerful enemies Saitama has ever faced.
Several heroes step forward to stop this powerful enemy, and Silver Fang senses something evil that has been controlling Garou. At that point, Blast arrives from a portal and says that Garou now has the divine power. Blast confirms that Garou’s single attack is powerful enough to destroy the planet. On top of that, Garou’s body is emitting radiation that is killing humans, so Blast offers to take Garou to another dimension. However, Garou refuses to leave the planet; instead, he takes pride in becoming the symbol of fear for humanity.
Obviously, Silver Fang and Blast are left with no choice but to fight Garou, even though they know it’s a suicide. At this point, Genos, who already lost his lower body during the fight, attacks Garou. As expected, Genos’ attack doesn’t even scratch Garou, so Blast tries to shut down the God-level threat with his powers. However, Garou proves too powerful for Blast, and he uses Gravity Fission Nuclear Fission attack to dominate the S-class hero.

Garou now realizes that Saitama wasn’t fighting at his full potential. So, to bring out the baldy’s real strength, Garou kills Genos by taking out his core. Of course, we’ve seen Genos surviving near-death situations before, but this time it’s different. Genos needs his core to carry out essential life functions, and without it, there’s no way he could survive.
In the One-Punch Man series, we’ve rarely seen any main characters dying, and that’s why Genos’ death is so heartbreaking. However, this seems like a necessary step for the character development of Saitama, who now remembers the pain of losing a loved one. It would force Saitama to push his limits, making his character arc even more interesting for the community.
Genos’ death makes Saitama wonder if he actually has a hero’s intuition since he is always late. Seeing his friend lying lifeless on the ground, Saitama gets serious, and it’s the first time we’ve seen the bald hero like that. Saitama’s expressions are enough to get fans thrilled about the upcoming fight.
