TL;DR
- A reliable leaker has revealed that the OnePlus 10 Pro will offer 125W wired charging speeds.
- The Realme GT 2 Pro, Oppo Find X4 series, Oppo N series, and Reno 8 Pro will also reportedly feature the same speeds.
- There’s no word yet on wireless charging speeds for any of these devices.
OnePlus‘ current top-tier phone, the OnePlus 9 Pro, is certainly no slouch when it comes to charging speeds. It offers 65W wired charging (with the proper adapter), which can get you from empty to full in ~29 minutes. That’s fast, but it looks like the OnePlus 10 Pro will be way, way faster.
A new leak comes from Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings on Twitter), claiming that the OnePlus 10 Pro and various other BBK flagships will support 125W wired charging speeds.

According to the tweet, the Realme GT 2 Pro, Oppo Find X4 series, Oppo N series, and Reno 8 Pro will also support 125W charging. Unfortunately, there’s no word on wireless charging speeds yet.
OnePlus’ implementation will likely be a rebranded or tweaked version of Oppo’s 125W Flash Charge technology, which was unveiled last July. During that announcement, Oppo claimed it could charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 20 minutes.
We don’t yet know how big of a battery the OnePlus 10 Pro will have, though we can assume it’ll be near the same size as the OnePlus 9 Pro’s 4,500mAh battery. If the 10 Pro matches the 9 Pro’s capacity, you’ll likely be able to charge the 10 Pro’s battery from 0-100% in just over 20 minutes.

Not to be a wet blanket, but it’s worth mentioning the downsides of charging a smartphone that quickly. Oppo’s own Flash Charge tech actually degrades your smartphone’s battery at a concerning rate. At least in the case of Oppo’s 125W Flash Charge, Oppo told Android Authority that battery capacity would be “maintained” at 80% after 800 full charge and discharge cycles. This means you’d lost about a fifth of your battery capacity in just over two years. Now, that situation would only arise if you completely discharged your phone’s battery every day — which will not likely be the case for many users at all — but it’s still far quicker than other charging methods out there.
This is also assuming OnePlus would use an exact replica of Oppo’s Flash Charge tech. It’s been over a year since that technology was first announced, so we’d assume OnePlus’ implementation would be improved in some way.
Is 125W wired charging too fast?

We also hope the OnePlus 10 Pro’s charging tech will play nicely with other chargers. In the case of the Oppo Find X3 Pro, you only get super-fast charging speeds with Oppo’s proprietary cable and wall adapter. If you just use any ol’ charger, the phone’s charging speeds absolutely plummet. Here’s hoping OnePlus’ charging tech doesn’t suffer from the same limitations.
