For those of you who have been dying to watch the second season of Only Murders In The Building, Disney’s true-crime meets comedy show starring Selena Gomez, we have one hell of an update for you.
The 10-part season two, which star comedy veterans Steve Martin and Martin Short alongside Selena in an unlikely trio, now has a release date and a brand new trailer.
We’ve been left on a cliffhanger ever since that season 1 finale, which saw Steve, Selena & Martin’s characters – Mabel, Charles & Oliver – solving one murder, but encountering an even bigger fish to fry as they become implicated in another murder…
Here’s everything we know about Only Murders In The Building season two so far, including cast, plot, trailer, and release date:
Who stars in the Only Murders In The Building series?
Steve Martin, Martin Short & Selena Gomez remain at the forefront of this show as the trio of neighbour bonded by their obsession with true-crime.
In December, it was announced that Cara Delevingne will also be joining the cast for season two as Alice, a “sophisticated art world insider who becomes enmeshed in the mystery.” Amy Schumer will also be joining – as you will see from the trailer. Veteran actress Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment, The Apartment, Steel Magnolias) will also be joining the cast for this season.
The supporting cast for the first season included an impressive roster with Jane Lynch, Nathan Lane, Amy Ryan and even superstar Sting.
Behind the scenes, the series created and co-written by Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie) also features Selena Gomez as an executive producer with Dan Folgelman (This Is Us).
What do we know from the trailer?
It looks like we’re going to pick up exactly where season one left off, where our beloved trio were framed for the murder of their building’s board president Bunny Folger, so soon after solving the murder of Tim Kono of course. Lots of murder going on.
The trio are aghast at murder weapons showing up in their apartments, and they set about trying to find their framer and clear their names. The trailer shows them uncover a secret passageway in the building, which could explain all. We’re rooting for them already!
Cara Delevigne and Amy Schumer are also set to star, we see brief snippets of them in the trailer looking fierce, but no indicator thus far on what kind of parts they will play, heroes or villains.
As ever, the centre of it all is the podcast. The boom mic is back.
