Orenchi Ramen, whose popular bowls have been drawing long lines in Santa Clara for more than a decade, has expanded again, this time to the East Bay.
The newest location is a ghost kitchen one offering delivery and pickup for Berkeley, Oakland and Emeryville residents from inside the Longfellow Food Hall in north Oakland.
A streamlined menu features the signature tonkotsu, Orenchi Ramen, the soy sauce Shoyu version and the spicy miso Tan Tan Men, along with Chicken Karaage, Geso (Calamari) Karaage and Takoyaki octopus snacks.
In the South Bay, owner Kuniko Ozawa combined the Orenchi Santa Clara and Sumika Santa Clara menus during the coronavirus pandemic to create a new restaurant, Orenchi Izakaya.
A Sumika Grill still operates in Los Altos, serving grilled skewers, bento boxes and donburi.
There is also an Orenchi Ramen in Redwood City and, in San Francisco, Orenchi Beyond.
Details: Orenchi Oakland is open from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday at 5333 Adeline St., Oakland. To order, go to www.orenchi-ok.com.
