Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro believes his side are indeed a better team following their Spanish pre-season tour.
The Buccaneers ended the tour unbeaten, while their new signings also showed tremendous promise on the job.
Jose Riveiro’s side beat both Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ecuador’s Independiente Del Valle while drawing against LaLiga’s Las Palmas in their final encounter.

Orlando Pirates Spain tour was a success – Jose
“I am happy overall with the performance during the training camp. We had a fantastic opportunity as a South African football club to spend quality time here. Thanks to the club,” Riveiro told the club’s media department.
“Everything thus far is positive, everything is going well. Getting the introduction and adaptation of the new players in the group. Now we’re ready to go back to Johannesburg with the feeling that little by little we are a better team.”
Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands has reportedly landed a new job in the PSL.
The 39-year-old called time on his playing 18-year-long playing career at the beginning of last season.
Sandilands represented the likes of SuperSport United, Platinum Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
The Bafana Bafana international ventured into coaching after retiring and ended last season as Maritzburg United’s Goalkeeper coach.

Wayne Sandilands is back in the Premier Soccer League! According to the latest reports, AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin is pleased with him and the ex Bafana Bafana goalkeeper has joined the club as their goalkeeper coach!
“AmaZulu have now roped in Wayne Sandilands as Langa’s successor. He joins the all-new technical team led by head coach Pablo Franco Martin.” – a FarPost report read.
