Orlando Pirates have reportedly joined various Premier Soccer League clubs in the race to sign Stellenbosch FC midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa.

Mthethwa recently received a call-up to the Bafana Bafana after a series of standout performances lately, particularly from the beginning of the current season.

According to Soccer Laduma, other clubs vying for the signature of the 27-year-old include Royal AM, SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.

“News reaching the Siya Crew is that Pirates have become the latest club to show interest in the Ox, as Mthethwa is known in football circles, with Stellies expected to be inundated with enquiries for the player,” Soccer Laduma reported.

“Pirates is interested in Sibongiseni Mthethwa from Stellenbosch, and the he’s one of the players that the club would like to add to the team. Although it might not be in this transfer window but expect to club to make an offer for the player as he has been identified as a transfer target,” Soccer Laduma’s source said.
