The young shuttler reached his first-ever career final on Saturday and has won his first-ever title. He beat Danish shuttler Magnus Johannesen 21-15, 19-21, 21-16 to win the championship.
The 21-year-old won the first set with ease, but was pegged by Johannesen in the second game. But he rallied back in the decider third game to win 21-16, and has now become the champion.
Johannesen managed to restore parity in the 2nd game, but PRajawat was in control of the game most of the time. In the decider game, the Indian shuttler was leading 19-12 at one stage and despite Johannesen making a late resurgence, he held on to complete the victory.
In the final action, Priyanshu Rajawat’s serve did the trick as the Dane failed to retaliate, thus ending the match in Rajawat’s favour.
