Amanda Owen discusses being a TV shepherdess

Amanda Owen has hit back at fans on social media after questions were raised about the whereabouts of her husband.

The 47-year-old star of Channel 5’s hit documentary series Our Yorkshire Farm, gave short shrift to one of her followers as she once again addressed why husband Clive, 67, is rarely seen on her social media pages.

It has proved to be a sensitive subject for the Yorkshire shepherdess who has had a difficult 12 months or so with her marriage as the couple resolved a few rocky issues.

With Amanda and Clive, who share nine children together, back on the same page, there was a little annoyance in the comment made by Amanda following the questions online.

It came after the shepherdess shared a clip of the “moorland dawn chorus” at Ravenseat Farm, which she had captioned: “Early birds. A moorland dawn chorus. #yorkshire #shepherdess #spring #birds.”

In the video, the she told fans: “Well behind me you can see my yow with a new set of twins, but it’s the birds who are so noisy this morning.

“You can hear all sorts, grouse, snipe, lapwing, it’s beautiful!”

While many enjoyed the sounds of nature, there were some that asked why Clive never features on her social media videos and is rarely seen in any pics that she shares.

One fan questioned: “Why doesn’t your husband ever appear on these be great to see him.”

This prompted Amanda to join the thread on Twitter to put the reasons to bed, for what she hopes is for all time.

Amanda hit back, writing: “Because if you don’t wish to be on social media then that’s your choice.”

The fan then explained: “Of course it is just thought it be nice as he plays a major part in the programme.

“Great programme btw.”(sic)

Unfortunately for Amanda, the questions still came, with another commenting: “Lovely photos but where is your husband would be nice to see some of him in the pictures.”

And another added: “Still never see your hubby on pics with you.”

Amanda had previously addressed his absence from pics when speaking to OK! Magazine.

She said: “Clive will serve afternoon tea and change nappies, I’ll shear sheep and shovel s**t.

“It is hard work being a farmer and I will do everything it takes to provide for my family.

“That means having a lot of fingers in a lot of pies in order to make a living.”
