Liverpool’s pre-season schedule in full as Reds head off on travels

Liverpool’s summer transfer window got off to an explosive start with the addition of three new signings and the departure of long-serving forward Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich, and it is expected that things may severely quieten down until the start of next season.

The Reds have recently denied reports linking them with Porto winger Otavio, but they have supposedly ‘made an offer’ for Ousmane Dembele, while an exciting teenager is set to join next month. Elsewhere, reports of a second swap-deal with Naby Keita have emerged.

Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of Anfield…

Second Keita swap-deal considered

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is set to enter the final 12 months of his current deal and negotiations over his future at Anfield are yet to begin, although earlier reports had revealed that the Reds were going to make it their priority once pre-season begins.

And following speculation that Liverpool were set to consider using the Guinea international as part of a ‘player-plus-cash’ deal to sign Nico Barella from Inter Milan, in order to help reduce his £77m asking price, a fresh report has revealed that Keita could be involved in another swap deal for a different player.

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool could offer Keita to Juventus as part of a swap deal to get Adrien Rabiot, who has expressed his desire to depart Turin this summer. It has been claimed that both players are valued at £17m and no fee would be involved for either club.

Reds ‘made offer’ for Dembele

Liverpool may claim that their summer spending is over but the Reds have been linked with a move for Barcelona ’s Ousmane Dembele since the January transfer window, and now a report has revealed that Jurgen Klopp’s side have ‘made an offer’ for the Frenchman.

According to Spanish news outlet Sport, via Paisley Gates, Liverpool are one of five clubs to make an offer to sign Dembele as a free agent, with his contract situation at the Camp Nou still yet to be resolved following the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

The Catalan club remain hopeful of keeping hold of the forward, despite his disappointing return in Spain since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for €105 million plus a reported €40 million in add-ons, scoring 32 goals in 150 games in all competitions.

Exciting teenager set to sign

Liverpool are well recognised for bringing in young players for the future, as seen with all three of this year’s summer signings, but now they are set to add another addition to their setup with the transfer of Derry City youngster Trent Kone-Doherty.

Reports in Ireland claim that the youngster will officially join the Reds next month, following a season in Ireland in which he has been listed as a member of Derry’s first-team squad, while he made his debut earlier this year.

The teenager has also been capped eight times for Republic of Ireland’s Under 16 and Under 17 teams, scoring two goals. He is the latest addition to Liverpool’s youth set-up and will hope to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton.
