NHL defenceman P.K. Subban announced his retirement after 13 seasons in the league, and fans are digging up their favourite Pernell-Karl moments.
Electrifying in his prime, Subban marched to the beat of his own drum as a player, and did so in his retirement message.
“I never looked at myself or ever felt I was ‘just a hockey player.’ I always looked at myself as a person who happened to play hockey,” Subban said.
The defenceman, who played for the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, and New Jersey Devils, had many highlights in his career, including a Norris trophy win for best blueliner and a Stanley Cup Finals appearance. Fans shared a few of their faves on Twitter.
Subban is not expected to remain far from the game. The three-time all-star has been an analyst on ESPN and will star in the show P.K.’s Places, part of the expansion of Peyton Manning’s Peyton’s Places universe on ESPN+.
