“I think that the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce ‘love story,’ I believe it’s 100% fake,” she charged on her her Page and Austin podcast. “Come for me, Swifties. I have UFC fans coming for me, I think I can handle the Swifties.”

VanZant, who claimed earlier this month that she made more money in 24 hours through OnlyFans than she did her entire fighting career, dismisses the budding relationship as nothing more than a “publicity stunt” to boost audience interest in Swift’s career, the NFL and Kelce.
“It is publicity. It is — one, it’s huge for the NFL because yes, the NFL is big. Taylor Swift is huge and now she’s getting an entirely different demographic to come watch the NFL,” VanZant, 29, continued. “Think of the wives that are buying Travis Kelce jerseys now. It’s a huge publicity play on both fronts. It’s good for Taylor Swift, it’s good for the NFL, it’s good for Travis Kelce. There is so much strategic stuff that’s happening.”

VanZant’s hot take was liked by over 22,000 of her 3.2 million followers, but the comments section was flooded by people who dismissed her opinion.
“Bad take, NFL doesn’t need Taylor Swift, she’s not relevant to our demographic,” one person wrote, while another asked, “She’s a billionaire that tours the globe, he’s a multi millionaire that has two championships in one of the worlds biggest sports leagues… What do they possibly have to gain from this?”
“She doesn’t need the publicity… she makes enough money with her career,” a third person added. “I doubt anyone can pay her enough to be in a fake relationship with a football player.”
“Seems like YOU are the one looking for publicity! There I said it!” another critic swiped.

The relationship between the 12-time Grammy winner and the two-time Super Bowl champ got going after Swift took Kelce up on his invitation to watch his Kansas City Chiefs play in September.
Since then, the two have been spotted out in public and Kelce jetted down to South America to watch Swift play a show on her Eras Tour where she changed the lyrics in one of her songs to pay tribute to him.
This week on his New Heights podcast, Kelce revealed the nickname he has for the Cruel Summer singer (it’s “Tay” if you didn’t already know), and in a recent interview with the the Wall Street Journal the eight-time Pro Bowler admitted that he has “never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them.”
“Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been … mind-blowing,” Kelce said. “I’m learning every day.”

But the coupling has been a boon for the NFL. Ratings for the Chiefs have skyrocketed, and when Swift rolled up to a game between the Chiefs and New York Jets last month it was the most-watched match since the Super Bowl earlier this year. Swifties have been quick to embrace the tight end as well, embracing his old tweets and buying up Kelce jerseys (merch with his name “saw a nearly 400% spike in sales” the NFL said).
But VanZant isn’t alone in her dismissal of the couple. The View’s Sara Haines vented about having to talk about the couple back in September during a conversation with executive producer Brian Teta on an instalment of the Behind the Table podcast.
“This is a PR stunt, this whole thing, and I’m just not that interested in it, because it feels like you’re giving air to a publicity stunt,” Haines told Teta. “She does not need more expensive concert tickets that are hard to get. Like, she’s good. We’re good.”

Still, Kelce’s friends maintain the relationship is “the real deal.”
“Travis’ friends think this is the real deal for him,” the insider close to the football star told PEOPLE this week. “They’re still a little shocked by all of it — that he’s dating the Taylor Swift, but they’ve seen how down to earth she is with his friends and family.”
Their dedication to their respective careers and life in the public eye is seen as another strength.
“They’re both really hard workers, and he acknowledges her art is hers, and he has what’s his,” the source continues. “He understands the territory their relationship comes with and like he said, isn’t letting any of the hoopla impact how they’re growing together.”
As for Kelce, he doesn’t mind if Swifties think he dresses like a clown or if his ambitions to become a standup comedian after his life on the gridiron comes to an end seem a little outrageous.
“I’m on the roller-coaster, man, the roller-coaster of life,” he said.
