A double hundred from Abdullah Shafique and an unbeaten hundred from Agha Salman accompanied with fifties from Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel saw Pakistan take a 397 runs lead. Sarfaraz Ahmed suffered a concussion injury and was replaced by Mohammad Rizwan who scored 36 unbeaten runs off 61 balls.

Babar Azam’s Pakistan are well on course for a massive victory and with minimal chances of rain interruption on Thursday, July 27 – they are expected to solidify their position in the match.

AccuWeather has predicted no rain in Colombo until 7 PM IST on Thursday. However, thunderstorms around 9 AM and 3 PM have been predicted. Conditions will remain partly sunny throughout the day. The maximum temperature will hover around 28-30 degree celsius. The precipitation level will be close to 12 and 88 percent respectively. The wind speed in Colombo will be somewhere around 8 km/h.

Sri Lanka are expected to declare their innings soon after the first session on Day 4 and give themselves ample amount of time without the fear of rain playing spoilsport to win the Test match. Notably, Sri Lanka were bundled out for 166 in the first innings.
